Clinical Referrals
& Medical Imaging
As an accredited BASRaT practitioner, I can provide professional referral for medical imaging services - helping you avoid waiting lists and to get an answer as quickly as possible.
Recurrent physiological issues can sometimes be caused by underlying problems. Through consultation I can work with you to expedite the clinical processes and procedures.
Often imaging wait lists are a significant hold-up when seeking diagnoses through the NHS. Through consultation I can refer you privately to a medical imaging provider who will undertake a quick and easy imaging service and comprehensive medical report.
This report can then be used to advance your route through to medical treatment and recovery.
Why Refer Privately?
Scan Types
I am able to refer you for a range of imaging services, outlined below -
MRI Scan - Magnetic resonance imaging is a medical imaging technique used to form pictures of the anatomy and the physiological processes of the body. An MRI Scan provides detailed images of the muscles, soft-tissues, joints and bones.
CT Scan - A computerized tomography (CT) scan combines a series of X-ray images taken from different angles around your body and uses computer processing to create cross-sectional images (slices) of the bones, blood vessels and soft tissues inside your body. CT scan images provide more-detailed information than plain X-rays do. The images provided support diagnosis of bone disorders, abnormalities, fractures and joint issues.
Ultrasound - Diagnostic ultrasound uses ultra high-frequency sound waves and computer imaging to quickly and non-invasively examine soft-tissue injuries. This is particularly useful for understanding tendon and ligament issues, muscle tears and rheumatoid arthritis.
Being told ‘you’re on a waiting list’ is something that is happening more and more frequently; as a BASRaT accredited Sports Rehabilitator, I am able to provide a referral service and a direct route to medical imaging services - the process is really straightforward -
A face-to-face consultation; to discuss your issues and history (it may be something we can treat together!)
Decision on best course of action; if imaging or scans are required, I will write a referral, based on our discussion and my professional view.
The referral is reviewed by our imaging partners, you are then provided a link to book at a date and location that is convenient for you, at the best price.
You attend the scan appointment and shortly after this, you will be provided with your results, as the referring practitioner I will also be provided with the outcome.
We can discuss the results of your scan, interpretation and advise on your next steps for treatment.
